Bob Marley Achievement Award
For Eddy GrantGuyanese born Eddy grant will be presented with the first Bob Marley Lifetime Achievement Award at the second annual Caribbean Music Expo set for November 29 to December 3 in Ocho Rios , Jamaica. The presentation will take place at the CME 2000 awards dinner on Saturday December 2, at the Renaissance Jamaica Grande Hotel.
Mr. Grant came to prominence on the world music stage in the 1960's as leader of the multiracial British group the Equals with hits such as " Baby Come Back" and " Black Skin Blue Eyed Boys ". As a solo artiste his international hits include " Electric Avenue", " Living on the Frontline ", " I don't wanna dance ", " Give me hope Jo'anna " and " Walking on Sunshine ".
Since the mid eighties Eddy has relocated to the Caribbean setting up home and a recording studio in Barbados known as the Blue Wave Studios. He operates his own recording company Ice Records, www.icerecords.com. and has also established his own music publishing companies.
Entertainment attorney Paul Marshall of New York, who is no stranger to Caribbean music will deliver the keynote address at the CME 2000 dinner at which the CME Award of Excellence will also be presented to Wyclef Jean.
